<strong>How to Construct</strong><br><br>Air-rafts are built in a designated construction yard on flat land and will launch where they are built from. Once launched, you can carry the air-raft like a backpack by holding <hk>shift</hk> and clicking it with <hk>rightmouse</hk>. (You will not be able to pack it up if it has attachments.) They can be deployed by holding <hk>ctrl</hk> and scrolling to the backpack slot, then clicking <hk>rightmouse</hk> on the ground. The air-raft can also be placed as ground storage. Hold <hk>shift</hk> and click <hk>rightmouse</hk> to place it on the ground. It can be scrapped for a partial return of materials by holding <hk>rightmouse</hk> with a <a href="handbooksearch://saw">saw</a> in your hand. See the <a href="handbook://vsairshipmod-tier1-buildinfo">Building an Air-Raft</a> entry for more information about construction.<br><br><strong>Movement</strong><br><br>Once you have launched your air-raft, click <hk>rightmouse</hk> on the top of the fuelbarrel to sit on the ''seat''. The air-raft can only fly if it has a <a href="handbooksearch://temporal gear">Temporal Gear</a> and has been fueled with either <a href="handbooksearch://rot">Rot</a> and / or <a href="handbook://item-vsairshipmod:airshipfat">chopped fat.</a> Holding [Spacebar] fires the burner to move the air-raft up; if you stop burning, the air-raft will move down. Alternatively, you can also hold the <hk>ctrl</hk> key to open the topside venting hatch to move down right away. When you are in the air, you can use the normal navigation keys to move. The fastest way to travel long distances is to gain altitude and ride the wind currents!<br><br><strong>The following rules apply for the wind currents:</strong><br>1. The precipitation of an area affects the direction of the wind in that area.<br>2. The weather determines how windy it is for you to ride the currents.<br>3. Your distance from the ground determines how strong the wind pushes you.<br><br>To clarify, if the current weather is only a “slight breeze”, you will only be pushed at the top speed of a slight breeze at max altitude.<br><br><strong>VISUAL INDICATION</strong><br><br>The weather vanes at your sides show which way the wind is blowing at your current altitude.<br><br>The gauge on the barrel indicates the remaining fuel. <br><br>The glass gauge behind you indicates the remaining mileage left in the Temporal Gear in use.<br><br><strong>TOGGLE HOVER</strong><br><br>Above your head is a valve that allows you to turn on a hover mode which passively burns a small amount of extra fuel. It also stops the wind from affecting you. This feature is specifically for use as a lore-friendly flying utility in building vertical structures. It can also be used as a means to recover yourself when the wind overpowers you into a corner that you can't get out of. This feature is limited only to the Tier 1 air-raft.<br><br><strong>Equipping</strong><br><br>Accessories are added via <hk>ctrl</hk> + <hk>rightmouse</hk>.<br><br>You can place a <a href="handbooksearch://shield">shield</a> on the front of the fuel barrel.<br><br>You can attach a <a href="handbooksearch://lantern">lantern</a> to the metal hoop attached to the balloon above you.
